Bill Eggert, Proprietor of Fairview Cellars, located in Oliver on South Okanagan's Golden Mile, produces some of the best BC reds in the Okanagan from his single vineyard of classic Bordeaux varietals of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

The Bear is the premier blend from Fairview Cellars. A higher content of the Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is used ensuring long cellaring capabilities.

This blend is predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon (60%) with Merlot (25%) and Franc (15%) finishing out. This is a full-bodied and versatile wine named in honour of the "two chicks" who were a result of the Great Horned Owls that come to mate every year on the estate.

A few years ago Eggert experimented with some Sauvignon Blanc and found encouragement from his customers. So in went vines of his own, though most of the grapes, to which he adds a bit of Semillon, now come from an organic vineyard on the Golden Mile.

the Okanagan, is determined to demonstrate why it works not just as part of a blend.
